We have developed walks in some of the most remote corners of Tanzania and we think these walks are one of the best African experiences you can have. Our Tanzania walking safaris are genuinely unique. We are pioneers in setting up walking safaris. Our most popular itineraries run from 2, 6 to 12 days and can be inserted as part of a vehicle based game viewing safari or they can stand alone. Walking trips allow us to visit the more remote and unspoiled parts of the country and to see the landscape and culture with very little outside influence. All walking trips include time spent with either hunter gatherer tribes
You will have a few opportunities of meeting interesting people in Maasai land and crossing Sonjo Valley. Don’t worry about where you will sleep during walking safari, we are trekking with our donkeys and caring the Camping Gear. We also offer an easier tour for those who wish to visit the national parks like Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its famous Caldera.
During the long trek through Maasai Land you will have the opportunity to learn about Maasai dance, learn about traditional Maasai Medicine, enjoy the beautiful landscape, see how the Maasai woman work with beads to make artwork and clothing decorations, and also see how the Maasai can start a fire using two sticks. Beside individual tours we are offering programmes for group travels (8-15 guests) through the Maasai land in the Ngorongoro district.
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport in Nairobi or Kilimanjaro Airport close to Arusha we pick you up then drive to Ketumbeine Village crossing the border into Tanzania through Namanga. On our way to Ketumbeine Village we will pass by Longido Village, where we descend to the rough road heading Ketumbeine. Upon arrival at Ketumbeine Village, we will stopover in the village to visit one of women’s beading projects
On the next day, After breakfast (8:30 am), we will leave the camp do some mountain trekking for some good refreshments and exercise to get prepare for the coming soon Maasai Trekking Tours. During our trekking you will need some water to drink, on way then we come back to the campsite for lunch.
Next day early breakfast at 6:30am, we will leave for Maasai trekking heading to Porini Camp, it will take us 6 – 7hours, on the way you will enjoy a good landscape, bird watching, trees and if you are lucking you may see some wild animals like Antelopes. We always have a vehicle with us which carry the bags, food, and all of our camping gear to our next spot dinner and overnight at Porini Camp.
